Made In LA: Verlain

Who says everyday shoes can’t be extravagant? L.A. designer Mark Lu challenges that notion with Verlain, a line of ultra-luxurious oxfords and loafers that are anything but basic. Featuring sumptuous materials and fresh, vibrant colors, the collection is a perfect fit for the woman who prizes traditional shapes and easy comfort, but still wants to stand out from the fashion crowd.
This season’s shoes feature exotic leathers such as water snake, crocodile, lamb, calf and suede, in a rich variety of neons, neutrals and animal prints. Up next? An even more unusual slate including ostrich and hippopotamus. And while the materials come from a range of far-off locales, the shoes themselves are all designed and manufactured here in Los Angeles.
