New York Fashion Week: The Highlights

For Spring, fashion is looking bright, youthful and fun following a rather mature, somber Fall. The colors of the season? Bright white, bubblegum pink and acid green.
Jason Wu injected that poppy color scheme with ladylike sophistication, and added playful touches like black patent belts and over-the-top peplums. Even the usually ultra-sophisticated Oscar De La Renta skewed younger and hipper, accenting his de riguer tweed suits with pops of color and cute ankle socks. The Row and Theysken’s Theory utilized stark white to beautiful effect, Phillip Lim and Proenza Schouler wowed with futuristic fabrics, and Rodarte stood out from the crowd with brilliant Van Gogh-inspired prints.
